There are many things you will notice about the people at Mocha Web Design, Archiform 3D or any os Steve Bell's other companies, but one of the most noticeable and enforced is the No-Tie policy. We don't wear ties or anything that is overly formal. Steve feels that anything worn purely for superficial purposes, such as a tie, is simply a way to pretend you are someone that you are not. Looking good and respectable does not hinge on a tie and they only have purpose in the formality of a court room or other situation that we would all rather avoid.

Ties are not allowed in our office. People that wear ties don't work for us. If you want a web design company representative to visit you wearing a tie then you will have to find another company.

What is our dress code?

Comfortable, individual, presentable. This includes jeans. Shoes are mandatory. Ties are banned.

Penalties for wearing a tie

The person that wears a tie to the office may lose the creative ability and personality needed to work with us. This means that the tie could drag you to a position in the company where you surf the internet all day, look for new ways to annoy clients with geek speak. While the tie itself wont get you fired it is likely that the subliminal draw on your personality will make you leave to work at a company with other tie-wearing people.

People that wear ties

Here is a list of people that wear ties that are nothing like us:

  • Used car salesmen
  • Lawyers that spend more time writing bills than actually helping you
  • Book keepers in boring companies
  • Young guys going for job interviews
  • Crooks and sharks in any kind of business
  • Geek web site developers that make ugly web sites

While we know lawyers and the like that don't wear ties, such as the ones that work for us, it is easy to see where we are going with this. People and companies need personalities, integrity and some kind of identity, not ties.
